Council of Churches accessory to spreading of anti-Semitism

OPEN LETTER TO THE COUNCIL OF CHURCHES IN THE NETHERLANDS

Tel Mond – Israel, 8 June 2020

Dear Mr.van Dartel,

Combined with the hatred of Jews that has become so commonplace nowadays, the one-sided and unfounded line of reasoning behind the Council’s standpoint on the boycott of Israel – based on arguments that simply are not true – is making the Council of Churches in the Netherlands an accessory to the vast anti-Semitism now spreading across Europe and the rest of the world.

Wouldn’t it have been more appropriate for the Council of Churches in the Netherlands to focus on the woeful plight of Christians throughout the Arab world?

Instead of concentrating on improving the conditions your fellow Christians are living under in this part of the world, the Council of Churches in the Netherlands chooses to address the only democratic country in the Middle East where freedom of religion is practiced!

In the course of time, the Christian communities in Hebron and Bethlehem, the Palestinian Territories, have been reduced by 90% to almost zero! All across the Arab world, the Christian population has been decimated in the past few decades.

It would behoove the Council of Churches in the Netherlands to express its disapproval of the sad and life-threatening situation of Christians in the Arab world to the European Union in Brussels and request that it take steps to protect your fellow Christians. You might make your point even more emphatic with a petition to boycott the Arab world. Just a thought you might want to consider.

Sincerely,

Tswi J. Herschel,
