The Descendants of the Shoah Holland is a community of people (many 2G) with a proud Jewish identity, which is supportive amongst themselves. One of their goals is generating attention for the Shoah by education. Not only emphasizing on persecution, death and destruction, but also focusing on Jewish Heritage and making it available and of interest to everyone.
EDUCATION
A lot of Dutch Descendants are working in education, give lectures and workshops or tell their (family) history in class. The Descendants are always open to new suggestions. We like to exchange ideas. Please contact us info@thedescendants.nl
TRAVELS
The Descendants make group trips to the places where Jews lived, were persecuted and murdered. Not only to Sobibor, Auschwitz, Majdanek, Belzec, Treblinka, Chelmno, Maly Trostenets and Jasenovac, but also to the much more unknown Galicia in Southeastern Poland and Western Ukraine where (mass) executions took place.
The Descendants not only travel to places of misery, but (also) seek out regions, places and countries with a (living) Jewish culture. Outside Europe, the focus in terms of heritage is on Morocco, Curaçao and Suriname.
CONFERENCES
There are dozens of conferences every year about the Shoah. The Descendants profile themselves by giving talks and lectures, moderating and organizing workshops.
